Board Game CandyLand less afraid?

My mother bought my daughter for X-mas Candyland and I think that is different than it did when I was little. The game that I remember used a purple witch or wicked queen. It is also why I hated and never played Candyland, but now I see that the game does not have a witch, I am a little confused. Did they change the game, or am I thinking of another?

Today, constantly have to change old boy games and make them easier making them more colorful or happy or swollen (?) or otherwise. Not only have changed the Candyland board game, but the board game of life, if you've noticed. Hope that helped!
