i am planning my sweet 16 which is on june 21,2008 and the theme is candyland but i dont know what to do at i1
i am inviting 27 girls, we are sleeping in tents at my fathers house and having a tent building contest when everyone arrives. i am wearing bright colours. my dad has a pool and ai have some lawn games to play. other than that i do not know what to do to keep everyone entertained. i am also trying to convince my friends that sleeping in tents will and is fun. any ideas? also should i just do burgers and hot dogs or should i do shrimp,and shishqbobs?
I would do the hamburgers and hot dogs, more people like it, and it's easier on you. You can do toppings like lettuce and tomatos, ketchup, mustard, and have french fries.
You can set up an ice cream bar. Get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and any other favorites. It's not candy, but it's part of the sweet theme! Then get some toppings, Sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and cherries, and let everyone make their own sundaes. You can go to the dollar store and get those tall, plastic sundae glasses, or at the grocery store they have those waffle cone bowls.
You can also do popcorn and cotton candy.
You can put some clear vases out and fill them with skittles or jellybeans and have those giant lollipops coming out of them, like flowers, only instead you have lollipops to go with the sweet theme!
For your napkin rings when you eat, there are those ring candies, they look like either pacifers or diamond rings, you can put them around the napkins and make them your napkin rings, or you can tie a licorce twizzler around the napkins and make that the napkin ring.
If you go to the m&m's website you can personalize m&m's by color and what you want them to say, you can pick what colors you want and put your name and sweet 16 on them. You can put them in cellophane bags and tie them with ribbon and give them to your guests as favors to take home!
You can do games like potato sack races, three legged races, badmitten, volleyball.
Have a pie eating contest, but instead of pie, fill the pie tin with whipped cream and whoever finishes first wins!
You can do waterballoon fights!
You can get an inflatable kiddie pool and fill it with water, break into 2 teams and have a tug of war, the losing team ends up in the pool!
You can get some beach balls and scatter them in your pool, everyone will play with them!
In your pool, get an inflatable boat and fill it with ice and then some bottles of water, soda, etc, and have it float around the pool with your drinks in it. Just make sure that everyone does NOT put the caps of their drinks in the pool, it WILL break the filter if they throw their caps in the pool when they take it off the bottles. Have them take them off and put them on the side of the pool, far away from the water so they won't fall in!
You can also put some lounge chairs and waterproof cushions around the pool so it becomes a lounge area for you and your friends to hang out when you're not swimming.
You can also hang some clear, stringed Christmas lights around the pool and party area, it will add a really nice touch as the sun goes down and make it really festive! To have the whole party area and pool area lit up by the lights would look awesome!
You can get some flashlights and lanterns at the dollar store for your friends for the tents and make sure they bring their sleeping bags/blankets, and pillows. Make sure to have lots of snacks and chips and things to make it fun, bring out a radio or something to drown out the sounds of the night that may freak them out, and make sure to keep the yard lit up so if they do need to go into the house they can see where they're going. Make sure they do have a way inside the house in case they need to use the bathroom, or whatever make sure that either a door is unlocked for them or that they have a way in, and that the area is completely lit for them to see their way in. I would also give each girl sleeping out with you their own flashlights for their own personal feeling of wellbeing and comfort. I'm sure a lot of it is nervousness and the more people that know you're sleeping outside, the more you get some wise guy that wants to try and scare you, and I'm sure that's what they're thinking about, along with the bugs. Having their own flashlights, a way into the house, and the area well lit will help to make them feel better and give them peace of mind about it.
